In Pforzheim students learn to give material expression to human needs, desires and the way we deal with them. This is manifested as jewellery and everyday objects, which themselves offer new approaches in the interplay between craftsmanship and technology. The cornerstone of the students’ creative development takes place within the context of project work. Depending on the topic and the students' individual emphasis, the ensuing works range from one-offs, multiples, cooperation with industry or individual research.
The aim is to educate autonomous artistic individuals, who are capable of developing individual perspectives and forms of expression, and who can assume authorship of their own work and contextual position. SODA presents work by: Elena Belman (Germany, 1983), Ana Gatzionis (Germany, 1985), Wiebke Goos (Germany, 1985), Yasutaka Okamura (Japan, 1976), Michaela Prange (Germany, 1985), Laura Rittlinger (Germany, 1984) and Birte Söllner (Germany, 1982).
